Spay & Neuter Assistance Program

Low-Cost Spay & Neuter Assistance Program – “SNAP”

Cascades Humane Society offers low-cost spay and neuter surgeries to the public. Done in-house by our own vet, Dr. Sarah Patrias, the procedures are minimally invasive and your pet goes home the same day. We have recently added new services, such as vaccines and tests, as well as dental services. Please note that all prices are subject to change.

Scheduling Your SNAP Appointment

In person at CHS

  • Visit Cascades Humane Society to fill out the SNAP Application, pay for the surgery and schedule your appointment.
  • Please bring your driver’s license or state ID with you to verify that you are a Jackson County resident.
  • The cost of the spay/neuter surgery depends on the gender of your pet and for dogs, the size of the dog.
  • CHS requires that your pet have a rabies vaccine before the surgery. If your pet has had a rabies vaccine, bring the rabies certificate with you when you schedule the appointment. If your pet does not have a rabies vaccine, CHS can give your pet one during surgery for only $25.
  • Pets must be at least 2 months old to have surgery.

Contact-free

(Please note that this is not the quickest way to schedule. If scheduling your pet’s surgery is time sensitive for you, please opt to stop by CHS in person to do so.)

  • Print the SNAP Application by following the appropriate link:
  • Fill out the form and email it back to us at adopt@chspets.org with ‘(your last name) SNAP Application’ in the subject line.
    • Example: Smith SNAP Application
  • Send proof of a current rabies in the form of vaccine records if your pet is 16 weeks or older. You will be asked to add on the rabies vaccine as an additional service if your pet is not up to date or schedule at another time once you can provide current records.
  • One of our team members will give you a call to schedule your appointment date and time and to collect payment for the surgery over the phone.
    • Payment is required before an appointment can be scheduled.
  • Download and read the pre-surgery take home information here, and call us if you have any questions.

Appointment Information

  • Once you schedule your appointment, you will receive an appointment card. The appointment card lists the date and time of the surgery, and some reminders for you.
  • Please bring the appointment card along with your driver’s license or state ID to CHS the day of the surgery.
  • If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please return the appointment card to CHS. If you cancel or reschedule within 24 hours of the surgery or later, please note that there is an additional $10 fee to reschedule. There will be no refunds given 30 days after the appointment date.
