JACKSON, MI — Hundreds of dogs and their owners packed the Cascades Falls Park on Saturday, June 7 for the Paws in the Park fundraising event.
Some dogs donned outfits while others jumped through hoops during the 1.3 mile walkathon during the sunny afternoon.
All proceeds went towards Cascades Humane Society to ensure care for any animal that comes through its doors.
After last year’s event raised close to $29,000, officials set the goal for $30,000 this year.
In addition to the walk, entertainment, vendor booths, kid and dog activities were available to keep participants busy throughout the day.
“This walkathon allows us to highlight our life-saving work and celebrate the magic of the human-animal bond,” Lisa Bonney, executive director of Cascades said in a press release.
