Paws in the Park 2022!

Join us for our annual Paws in the Park! Register for the 5k Run, the 1 mile walk, or the kids-only Doggie Dash! When you register, you will be asked to make a fundraiser page. This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and all donations go straight to the animals in our care. We have great incentives this year, so make sure to ask your families and friends to donate so you can get great prizes!

This is a family-friendly and dog-friendly event! So bring your dog to do the walk or the run, watch the kiddos do the Doggie Dash, shop the venders, and participate in all the activities we have!

New! Performances by The Canine Stars Stunt Dog Show!

The Canine Stars are a world-class entertainment and educational dog show. These professional dog trainers and their rescued (!) pooches have perfected their act with catching, agility and stunts! They have performed all over the country and were even on America’s Got Talent!

With two shows Friday and three shows Saturday, there is a good time for you to bring your family and check out these amazing dogs (and trainers)!

Register for the run, walk or doggie dash

Register for the 5k Fun Run for just $35 in advance and $40 at the door or register for the 1 mile “Woof Walk” for just $25 in advanced an $30 at the door. Registrants for these will receive a goodie bag and a 2022 Paws in the Park T-shirt. Those doing the 5k will also receive a finishers medal. The top 3 places in each age group receive a medal.  We will also be celebrating our canine participants, top dog awards will be given to the first 3 dogs to cross the finish line! Awards can be picked up at the registration tent or later at CHS.

New this year is a kids Doggie Dash (100 yards). Registration is just $5 and includes a paw print medal they can wear proudly around their necks!

One of our biggest fundraisers of the year!

As a supporter of CHS, you probably already know that we care for nearly 1,400 pets annually. This includes “routine” medical care (although many other shelters do not provide even this level of care) such as spaying and neutering, vaccinating, parasite preventatives, microchipping, and disease testing. It also includes going above and beyond for those animals that need it with specialized surgeries, diagnostic labwork testing, and in depth medical treatments. Each of the animals that find their way to us not only get medical attention, but they get a team of staff and volunteers who love, care, clean and feed them.

If you are registering for the run or the walk, please also create a fundraising page that you can customize and post on your social media account. If you are not registering but would be willing to help us reach our fundraising goal, you can donate (pick a fundraiser to add to, or scroll to donate independently) or create your own fundraising page by clicking the buttons below. As a nonprofit shelter that receives no outside funding, CHS appreciates fundraisers very much! To thank you for your hard work, we have come up with some fundraising rewards. The more you fundraise for CHS, the more prizes you get! You can also join with others to create a team!

Low cost vaccine clinic

Get your dog (or cat!) brought up to date on their vaccines while enjoying all the fun that Paws in the Park has to offer! All appointments will be on a first come, first served basis. Please only bring healthy pets, all sick animals will not be vaccinated and will be referred to your veterinarian.

Prices:

Dog Distemper vaccine: $22
Cat Distemper vaccine: $22
Bordetella vaccine: $22
Rabies vaccine (both cat and dog): $22
Microchips (lifetime registration): $25
Heartworm test: $35
Heartworm, Flea, and Tick preventative (for cats and dogs) will also be sold, price dependent on weight.

Fun activities for the humans!

This event is truly fun for the family! We will have fun activities for the kids such as face painting, balloons, and a dunk tank! We will also have a variety of vendors – both for the humans and the pets!

Fun activities for the dogs!

Even the dogs can have their own fun! Get a paw-rait of your dogs paw print made, get your dog a doggie (temporary and safe) tattoo, or enter a costume contest!
