Ways To Donate

Cascades Humane Society is a not-for-profit, tax exempt public charity.

Because CHS does not receive funding from federal, state or county government, or other national or state pet umbrella groups, we rely on the generosity of individuals, foundations, corporations, and special events to support our services, programs, and mission…connecting animals in need with people who care.

In addition to donating directly using the Donate Today tab on the right side of the page, the following are ways in which you can support CHS:

In-Kind Donations
In-kind donations matter just as much as monetary ones! Pet food, toys, leashes, litter, laundry detergent, bleach, blankets, etc are all items that help us care for the animals and provide them enrichment and comfort. Shop your favorite stores or shop online and ship directly to CHS.

Ongoing Bottle/Can Drive
Don’t love the taking care of bottles/cans? Great news! You can drop your bottles/cans off at our location – 1515 Carmen Drive – and we will gladly take them back to raise money for the animals! Let us handle the mess!

Bottles/cans can be dropped off anytime CHS is open- Tuesday-Saturday from noon-6pm. We just ask that you rinse before donating so that we don’t attract bugs!

Tributes
Tributes are an excellent way to honor the people and animals that have made a difference in your life, while providing for the care of pets still waiting for loving homes. Your heart can rest easily knowing that you are giving twice – honoring your loved one and providing for homeless animals. Your tribute could remember a beloved family member or loyal companion animal, celebrate an anniversary, the birth of a child, or any special occasion.

Garden Memorials:

  • Large Natural Rocks – For $5,000 these rocks, denoting strength and lasting beauty are available for permanent inscription
  • Benches – For $2,500 this attractive and permanent bench of stone and recycled plastic will be inscribed with your dedication and placed in either the Paw Playground or Memorial Gardens
  • Trees – For $1,000 this permanently inscribed dedication in granite will be placed by a lovely, shade tree in either the Paw Playground or the Memorial Gardens
  • Stepping Stones – For $500 a round granite stepping stone will be marked with your permanent inscription and placed in the Memorial Garden beside the walking path
  • Gazebo Stars – For $250 a lasting, gold star will be engraved and mounted on the gazebo ceiling

When your tribute is received, Cascades Humane Society will send you a tax-deductible receipt as well as notify the person you are honoring. The amount of your gift is not mentioned.

Corporate Sponsorships

Kennel Sponsorships
Kennel Sponsorships provide animals with a source of comfort. A personalized plaque will hang on a pet’s kennel that can have your name or your company’s name and logo on it, or it can be in memory or honor of a special person or pet. You can sponsor a kennel for a year or permanently.

Here are the gifts you can choose from:

  • Permanent sponsorship: $5,000
  • Dog cage for one year: $1,000
  • Cat cage for one year: $500

Planned Giving
Planned Giving is simply a gift made through a will. If you already have a will, a simple addition is all that is needed to include a gift to Cascades Humane Society. You can leave a specific asset, or the remainder (or a portion of the remainder) of what is left after all other bequests are made. Gifts of life insurance, real estate, and stock are just some of the ways you can help the animals at Cascades Humane Society. For more information, visit our planned giving page.

Recycle for the Animals
Recycle your used ink cartridges, laser cartridges and cell phones. Bring them to CHS and the animals receive money for each item you donate.

Check out other ways you an help without even opening your wallet!
Change your internet search engine and help the animals. Log onto www.goodsearch.com and enter Cascades Humane Society as the non-profit you support. Then click on the verify button. Each time you use www.goodsearch.com you’ll raise a penny for the animals.

Shop Online!
Shop online at www.igive.com and support CHS. iGive.com is the first online shopping mall where a portion of each purchase is donated to your favorite cause. Established in 1997 for one purpose: to turn everyday online shopping into donations for worthy causes, at no cost to shoppers or the causes they support. You can also download the iGive button on your computer. When shopping on a partner site, the button will appear and all you have to do is click on it to ensure a portion of your purchase will be donated CHS. Shop at Kroger!
Every dollar you spend using your Kroger Plus card can benefit CHS. Visit their website and click on the link for Michigan. You can choose to enroll for the first time or re-enroll your card to ensure that Cascades Humane Society receives credit for all your purchases. Follow the instructions on enrolling your card, and be sure to respond to any confirmation emails Kroger may send. We are organization #91181. You can also simply search for Cascades Humane Society in the list of charities on the Kroger Community Rewards website.

CHS receives no federal or state government funding or funding from other national or state pet umbrella groups. CHS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and donations to CHS are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
