Updated: We are OPEN!

UPDATED 8/1/20: We are now open to the public and are not conducting adoptions by appointment currently. We will perform adoptions on a first come first served basis. We are still limiting the number of guests in the building, so we ask that you sign in when you arrive and we will help you as soon as possible. Thank you in advance for your patience!

We are now open to the public by appointment effective June 1, 2020.

In an effort to protect our staff, volunteers and the Jackson Community from the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19, we ask all patrons to follow CDC guidelines by social distancing, wearing masks or coverings, handwashing and staying home if you are sick or have had contact with anyone who has been sick. It is important to us to follow the Governor’s requirements for businesses re-opening.

We strongly encourage adopters to have pets in mind prior to arrival to minimize the time spent in the facility.

Caring for our animals is always our top priority, and therefore we are excited to open our doors and be able to help them find their forever homes. We have the most amazing team of staff and volunteers who we will continue to support with proper safety precautions and protective equipment.

Our staff have been educated on the CDC guidelines and the Governor’s reopening requirements. We have created a plan for safely reopening (if you would like to see it, please email edoffice@chspets.org), which includes how to conduct adoptions, intakes, and surgical appointments as contactless as possible. Those making appointments will be instructed over the phone as to our new procedures.

As a non-profit that does not receive funds from national or state humane societies, or money from the government (including the recent Jackson millage), CHS relies on the generosity of the community to remain functioning.

Thank you for the support over the past several weeks. You truly are our heroes!
