We may be closed, but our animals still need us… and you

The Governor’s Executive Order was not unexpected and we were prepared. We are still making our animals, staff, and community a priority.

For their protection, we have limited the number of staff members in the building to only those essential for the care of the animals and the facility. They are continuing to follow all CDC guidelines and while we have always used hospital-grade disinfectants especially in animal areas, we have increased our sanitizing and disinfecting of frequently touched areas.

As we are here for our staff, we are here for our animals and will continue to be.

We will be here for Chunk, the 9-month-old puppy who came in with his siblings and still needs to be neutered.

We will be here for Mariah, the sweet cat who had to have an emergency surgery Monday night due to an infected uterus called a pyometra.

We will be here when a community member has an emergency and needs to surrender an animal they found sick and roaming in the streets.

We will be here for Ziggy, the dog who is riding the coronavirus quarantine out in a loving foster home, out of the shelter environment, supplying his family with whatever they need during this time to make his stay the best possible.

And we will be here for all the other animals that are currently still in our care; more than 70.

They needed us before, and they still do

They don’t stop needing food to eat. They don’t stop needing medications or vaccines. They don’t stop needing to be spayed or neutered. They don’t stop needing the care from our passionate and experienced staff.

But they don’t just need us. They need you, too.

How can you help?

We’re glad you asked! We know these are uncertain times, but one thing we know, we will still have all these precious pets, and even more to take care of when the virus is contained. Here are lots of ways you can help CHS and our animals out during this difficult time.

iGive
iGive is great! If you make a purchase online, and that company has a donation program, iGive automatically tells that company to direct the donation from your purchase to Cascades Humane Society! You don’t have to remember a thing!

Facebook
You can start your very own fundraiser for Cascades Humane Society on Facebook! Just click the link above and then click fundraisers on the left. Kroger
Just sign up and whenever you shop and use your Kroger Plus Card, a portion of your purchase will automatically be donated to Cascades Humane Society!

Woof Trax
Walk your dog? Well, you can earn money for Cascades Humane Society by doing something that you already do! Just sign up, download the app, and let Woof Trax know when you’re walking!

Don’t have a dog but go for walks? Sign up and select a virtual dog to walk!

Monetary donations
Monetary donations are always appreciated, because we are able to put the funds where they are needed most.
